Sunderland Compact - Equalities Codes of Practice
Since the last Equalities Codes of Practice meeting the Lesbian Gay Bisexual (LGB) and Gender Independent Advisory Groups (IAG) have formed sub-groups to draft their codes of practice and are planning meetings to which they will invite anyone who is interested in helping with the draft.
All the current members of the Black Minority Ethnic (LGB) IAG have a copy of the draft code of practice and it will be discussed at the next IAG meeting.
The Disability IAG has been approached with the idea of creating their own code of practice and they are putting it to their membership.
The Faith IAG are unsure if they would be able to work on the draft right away but they have been asked to attend the next Equalities Codes of Practice meeting to find out more.
The Young Persons IAG are having their first meeting for sometime in two weeks and it will have mostly new members. They are therefore not yet able to look at drafting a Code of Practice.
The Older Persons Partnership Action Group (OPPAG) has begun working on their Code of Practice and is holding a number of consultations. They hope to have a draft ready for wider consultation by the 10th September 2008.
